It’s very important to store nay leftover rice correctly, as it can easily become a cause of food poisoning. Cool and refrigerate the rice as soon as possible after cooking. Store the rice in the fridge for up to 2 days. and reheat until piping hot before consuming.
Cooked rice is also suitable for freezing. Freeze the rice in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Defrost in the fridge overnight, before reheating until piping hot.
- 1000g or 1 litre water
- 300g or 1 1/2 cups rice, either short, medium or long grain
Pour the water into the Thermomix bowl.
Insert the simmering basket and fill with the rice.
Cook 18 minutes/100c/speed 4, with the measuring cup in.
Fluff the rice with a fork, and cook for a little longer if needed. This will depend on the type or rice you are cooking.
