If you loved our Doughnut Muffins, you are going to love our newly created version, our Nutella Filled Doughnut Muffins. They are the same delicious muffins that taste just like a cinnamon doughnut, but they are filled with spoonfuls of Nutella. Just like our original version, they are then topped with a buttery cinnamon sugar coating. They are perfect served warm or cold.
To make these muffins, first preheat your oven and lightly grease 2×6 hole muffins trays. Next, add to a large mixing bowl some melted butter, sugar and a sprinkling of nutmeg. Mix that together until well combined, then add some milk, mix once again, and finally add some self raising flour. Mix the flour through the wet ingredients until just combined.
Divide half of the mixture between the 12 muffin holes. Top the batter with a small spoonful of Nutella, then top with the remaining batter. Spread out the batter gently to cover the Nutella, then bake in the oven for around 15 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.
Melt the remaining butter in one small bowl, and combine some white sugar and cinnamon in another. While the muffins are still warm, dip each in the melted butter, then dip in the sugar mixture. Enjoy!
- 85g butter, melted
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup self raising flour
- 50g butter, melted
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Preheat the oven to 190c. Grease a 12 hole muffin tin.
Add the melted butter, sugar and nutmeg to a large bowl and stir until well combined. Add the milk and stir again. Add the baking powder and flour to the bowl and stir until just combined.
Divide half of the mixture between the 12 muffin holes. Top each with small spoonfuls of Nutella and then top with remaining batter.
Bake for around 15 minutes, until the muffins are cooked through and golden.
Melt the second lot of butter in a bowl. In another bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon.
Once the muffins have cooked, dip the tops of the muffins in the butter, then dip in the cinnamon sugar. Serve warm or cold.
