Make 100 biscuits for only 6 cents per biscuit
This is one of the most economical baking recipes you will find! This bulk biscuits mix will make around 100 biscuits (depending on how large or small you make them) for only 6 cents each; that’s $6 for the whole mix.
The cost of making this recipe is based on Woolworths Online prices, and may vary depending on the area you live in, and product brands. We used:
Homebrand Self Raising Flour 850g – $0.89
Homebrand Unsalted Butter 500g – $3
Homebrand Sweetened Condensed Milk 395g – $1.99
Homebrand White Sugar 100g – $0.12
Total = $6
- 500 grams Unsalted Butter Softened
- 1/2 cup White Sugar
- 395 grams Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 5 cups Self Raising Flour
Add butter, sugar and condensed milk to mixer and beat until mixture is pale and fluffy. Stir in the flour.
Divide mixture into as many different flavours as you wish. Gently stir flavourings into each portion.
Bake at 180c for 12-15 minutes. Roll any portions you will be freezing into a log shape and wrap in cling wrap before freezing.
To bake frozen portions, slice the logs and bake as above.
We divided our mixture into 4 portions and added a flavouring to each portion. We baked one portion and froze the remaining 3. You can get as creative as you like with the flavourings; we choose dark chocolate chips, white chocolate and macadamia, coconut, and 100’s and 1000’s.
We have toned down the sweetness by only using 1/2 cup (100g) of sugar. You can adjust this amount depending on your tastes.
