Homemade Chocolate Yogo

Chocolate Yogo is expensive to buy from the supermarket, so instead make this homemade version and save money, plus you know exactly what's in it.

This Homemade Chocolate Yogo is so good that it tastes just like the real thing.  For those not living here in Australia, Yogo is a pre-packaged chocolate custard type of snack.  Given that it retails for around $2.97 for a 150g serving from the supermarket, it’s much cheaper to make your own.  In fact, it costs less than $1 to make a batch, and the recipe can easily be doubled for an even bigger batch.  Best of all, by making your own you know exactly what’s in it.  It only contains 4 ingredients that are probably already sitting in your fridge and pantry!

To make the yogo, add a little sugar, cornflour and cocoa to a saucepan.  Add enough milk to form a paste and stir until nice and smooth.  Next, add the rest of the milk and heat over a low heat.  Continue stirring until the mixture thickens, then take of the heat.  Pour the mixture into mould and pop them in the fridge to cool down.  Shop bought Yogo’s come with chocolate chip or mini M&M mix ins, and you could easily add these to the yogo just before eating.
