Easy Caramel Slice

If you have been following my recipes for a while now, you might have noticed I’m a big fan of anything caramel. This Easy Caramel Slice is perfect for those times when you need a caramel fix, fast. It’s a bit like a deconstructed caramel slice; it still has the biscuit base, slightly chewy caramel layer and chocolate top, the layers jut aren’t quite as defined.
Putting together the slice is as simple as pouring the melted butter into a lined slice tin, which is then topped with an even layer of crushed plain biscuits. Next, sprinkle over some desiccated coconut, top with chocolate chips and pour over a can of sweetened condensed milk. Bake until the slice is golden, then cool, slice and serve. Amazingly, it comes out of the oven tasting exactly like caramel slice, with the oven having done the caramelisation of the condensed milk for you.
