Easter Bunny Chocolate Milkshake

These Easter Bunny Chocolate Milkshakes are taking the country by storm, with cafes all over Australia serving them in the lead up to Easter.  It’s super easy to make your very own Easter bunny milkshakes at home, and the kids are sure to love them!

If you have been on social media over the past few weeks, chances are you have seen these milkshakes popping up all over the place.  Multiple cafes in my area have been serving these over the past few weeks, and they seem to be massively popular.

If you haven’t had a chance to try one yet, all you need is a few simple ingredients and you can make your very own Easter bunny chocolate milkshakes at home.  I made these milkshakes as a school holiday treat for my two kids and they thought it was the best thing ever.

These milkshakes are so much fun to make and drink.  First off you get a delicious chocolate milkshake, followed by eating the Easter bunny.  You can use any size Easter bunny, but I deliberately choose small Easter bunnies to avoid my kids overdosing on chocolate.

What is an Easter bunny milkshake

An Easter bunny milkshake is exactly as it sounds, a milkshake served in an Easter bunny.  You can use any flavour milkshake, but I decided to go with chocolate to keep with the Easter theme.

The top of the Easter bunny is broken off, then the milkshake is poured into the Easter bunny.  It is then topped of with some whipped cream, sprinkles and a colourful paper straw.

How to make a milkshake without a blender

Don’t have a blender?  While a blender sure makes it easier to make milkshakes at home, it’s still possible without a blender.

If you have a big enough jar and lid on hand, pour the milkshake ingredients into the jar and screw on the lid tightly (this step is very important, you don’t want milkshake all over your kitchen.  Shake the jar until the ingredients are well combined and bubbly, then pour into the Easter bunny and serve.

Alternatively, if you don’t have a jar handy, add the milkshake ingredients to a mixing jug, and whisk with a fork.  Continue whisking until the ingredients are well combined and milk is bubbly.

How do you thicken a milkshake

Want a thicker milkshake in your Easter bunny?  There are two quick and easy ways to make your milkshake thick and delicious.

Firstly, and you will need a blender for this one, add the milkshake ingredients to the blender along with some cubed ice.  Blend well.  The ice cubes will crush as you blend the ingredients together, chilling the milkshake and making it thicker.

Alternatively, add the milkshake ingredients to a blender along with some scoops of ice cream.  How much ice cream you add will depend on how thick you want your milkshake.  Blend together until well combined.
