Double your meals

Once a week, choose a meal in your meal plan and double it.  Freeze one portion of the meal for another day, which will come in handy when you don’t feel like cooking and are tempted to get take away instead.  This will also save energy costs  when you don’t have to cook a full meal one night a week, it helps if you put your frozen meal in the fridge the night before to defrost and reduce re-heating times.


This is also a fantastic tip if you are in the later stages of pregnancy; freeze as many meals as you can manage, which will leave you with a freezer full of meals to get you through those early weeks with the new baby when you really don’t feel like cooking!
