Ready to give this easy beef stroganoff a try? You will need the following ingredients:

  • Olive oil
  • Beef stir fry strips
  • Mushrooms
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Paprika
  • Plain flour
  • Beef stock
  • Tomato paste
  • Dijon mustard
  • Sour cream
  • Salt and pepper
  • Fresh parsley

How to make beef stroganoff

Heat a saute pan over a medium-high heat and drizzle in the olive oil. Add half the beef to the saute pan and brown. Transfer to a small bowl and repeat with the remaining beef. Set aside.

Melt the butter in the saute pan and add the mushrooms and onion, cooking, stirring, until softened. Add the paprika and garlic and cook, stirring, until fragrant.

Add the flour to the saute pan and stir until well combined with the other ingredients. Gradually add the stock while stirring, then add the tomato paste, mustard, sour cream along with the browned beef strips. Simmer until all ingredients are warmed through. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley and serve with pasta, rice or mashed potato and a bowl of steamed vegetables or salad.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 600g beef stir fry strips
  • 40g butter
  • 400g mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 brown onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons plain flour
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper
